Our private island tours and walksHello and welcome to Tenerife Private Tours where we will be delighted to show you the remarkable island of Tenerife in an unhurried and relaxed manner. Tenerife Private Tours is run by John Reid, a qualified Canary Island Official Tourism Guide who was brought up here in the islands when the rhythm of life was perhaps a little gentler. John’s Scottish ancestors settled here over two hundred years ago so we can tell you quite a lot about the real, native Tenerife, its people, its fascinating history of volcanic eruptions, the original Guanche inhabitants, conquest, trade, and even piracy.
By private tours we mean that we can pick you up at your hotel, apartment or cruise liner and take you on your chosen route and walk in the comfort of a private vehicle, taxi or minibus. You will not have to hop on and off a coach to snatch a hurried photograph. Apart from the offering you the opportunity, if requested, of strolling along forest trails, over volcanic terrain or along coastal tracks, we will take our time to visit the island’s gems, be they historic monuments, amazing natural treasures, hidden beaches, traditional inns or just somewhere to get a stunning view. From time to time we might go off the beaten path just to catch a glimpse of what one can’t usually see from the main road. We can stop as often as you wish and visit places like the village of Taganana, hidden at the foot of the Anaga Mountains, La Laguna and its historic monuments, the charming town of Garachico, the hidden village of Masca, the Botanical or Orchid Gardens in the Orotava Valley, the Mount Teide Natural Park, a vineyard or even a banana plantation close to the pretty port of Puerto de la Cruz. Every effort will be made to make sure you have a relaxed and enjoyable tour.
Recommended Tours. We have selected a variety of six-hour tours which you can book online if you wish. If you prefer a shorter tour or a longer tour, or another specific tour of your own choice, please enquire and ask for a quotation by using our contact page. The same applies if you are a larger group of travellers. Note: To avoid disappointment it is recommended that you book or enquire about a tour at least three days before your chosen date for a tour. Often guides are already booked and we prefer to have time to find the best available guide and transport for you.
WHAT’S THE WEATHER GOING TO DO IN TENERIFE TODAY?
Being a mountainous island in the middle of the Atlantic, Tenerife has different micro-climates, depending on where on the island you are, and so conditions can often vary from that forecast.
